Website and technical provision

This notice covers the new THELL website on TacticTable and the reservation system embedded here.

We use TacticTable, Manuel Johannes Sampl, tactictable in Gründung, Schönbrunnerstraße 30, 1050 Vienna, Austria, to provide these services. TacticTable supplies the technical platform for the website, media and reservation system and processes the necessary data on the restaurant’s behalf.

When you visit, technically necessary connection data are processed, particularly your IP address, the time, the requested address, and browser and security information. The purpose is to deliver and securely operate the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

TacticTable identifies Vercel as its web application provider, Clever Cloud as its database provider, and Cloudflare for infrastructure and file storage. The application is configured for a European execution region; this does not mean that all processing by every service provider takes place exclusively in Europe.

Fonts, photographs and films on this website are delivered through TacticTable’s infrastructure. The website does not load Google Fonts directly.

Table reservations

The embedded TacticTable reservation system processes the details you provide, particularly your name, email address, telephone number, date, time, party size and any wishes you communicate. We use these details to handle, fulfil and manage your reservation (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Reservation confirmations and other necessary messages form part of the booking process. TacticTable identifies Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) or a connected restaurant mailbox as the delivery channel. Resend also processes data in the United States.

If a particular booking offers a deposit or credit-card guarantee, the terms and payment information displayed during that booking apply. TacticTable processes such restaurant payments through the connected Stripe account. Making a reservation does not give consent to marketing.

Contact by email and telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your contact details and the information about your request so that we can handle and answer it. For reservation, event and catering enquiries, this is to take steps towards or perform a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

This website has no separate contact or newsletter form. The email link opens your email application. An enquiry or reservation does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter.

Group enquiries and vouchers

Group enquiries lead to our existing quotation service at offers.thell.restaurant. Vouchers are still ordered through the existing voucher shop at reservation.thell.restaurant. These services open only when you select the relevant link; their forms and payment functions are not embedded in this website.

The data entered there are used to process your enquiry or order. Please also read the privacy and payment information in the relevant service. Moving to the new website does not change the existing voucher process.

Audience measurement

TacticTable provides its own audience measurement for this restaurant website. It records data including page and booking events, referring sources, campaign information, device class, language and approximate location. It does not use statistics cookies or local browser storage for this purpose.

The IP address, browser information and restaurant identifier are used to generate a pseudonymous identifier that changes daily. Cookie-free therefore does not mean anonymous. The purpose is to understand use of the website and the paths leading to a reservation. According to the provider, the browser’s Do Not Track signal is respected. Raw events are cleared after 90 days by default; aggregated reports are kept separately.

For questions about measurement or to object to processing, contact hallo@thell.restaurant. The THELL theme itself does not embed Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta Pixel scripts.

Cookies and browser functions

TacticTable manages any storage required for requested functions and privacy choices through its platform. This theme does not carry over browser storage from the previous THELL website.

You can delete or restrict cookies and local browser data in your browser settings. This may affect requested functions. Audience measurement is separate: according to the provider, it does not use statistics cookies.

Google Maps and Instagram are ordinary external links. You visit the respective service only when you open such a link.

Retention and recipients

Access is limited to staff of THELL Wien, Tom Sampl GmbH authorised for the relevant purpose and the technical service providers involved. We process personal data for as long as required for the relevant purpose or by statutory retention obligations.

TacticTable offers a restaurant-specific retention setting for reservations. Its provider documentation states a default period of 36 months for clearing certain contact and note fields from old reservations. This does not mean that all related guest, message, payment and log data are deleted at the same time. We therefore assess deletion requests with reference to the data concerned.

International service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. TacticTable publishes information about its service providers and transfer arrangements in its privacy notice. You may ask us for information about the processing of your data and the applicable safeguards.

Your rights

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Please contact hallo@thell.restaurant to exercise them. If you believe that processing breaches data protection law, you may complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority: dsb.gv.at.

You may withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.
